Bike Routes

ROUTE 1: Off Road: Porlock Hill, Hawkcombe, Horner, Allerford, Bossington.

Distance: 20.23 km

Technical Difficulty: Moderate

A very scenic circular route around Porlock and the Vale. A mixture of easy going off-road trails and quiet country lanes. This route passes Tea Gardens and Farm Shops at Horner and Bossington, as well as shops and pubs in Porlock. This route is fantastic on an e-bike, a challenge up the hills on a standard bike.

ROUTE 2: Off Road: Cycle tour of Porlock Vale

Distance: 20.35 km

Technical Difficulty: Easy with a couple of Moderate sections

A scenic and easy going tour around Porlock Vale on quiet country roads, easy going off-road trails, with plenty of Tea Gardens to choose from! Great on a Mountain Bike or E-Bike (not road bike).

ROUTE 3: Off Road: Long MTB Loop (Porlock – Horner – Dunkery)

Distance: 35.15 km

Technical Difficulty: Difficult

A scenic route, taking in the highest point on Exmoor. This route is for experienced riders, with some steep and long climbs, and technical trails/descents. 

ROUTE 4: Off Road: Dunkery Beacon Loop (Intermediate)

Distance: 25.28 km

Technical Difficulty: Moderate

A 25km loop using quiet country lanes and fairly easy/intermediate off road trails to access Dunkery Beacon (highest point on Exmoor). Suitable for Mountain Bikes, ideally E-bikes!

ROUTE 5: Off Road: Mini 3 Peak Loop

Distance: 27.99 km

Technical Difficulty: Difficult

A 28km loop taking in Selworthy Beacon, Hopcott Trig Point and Webbers Post. Very scenic, steep climbs, some steep and technical descents. Suitable for Intermediate/Advanced riders.
