We had a fabulous time kayaking along the coast from Porlock Weir. We were all beginners. Dan was a great and calm instructor. Very patient with our old mum who was amusingly useless and had to be towed along 🙂 We would definitely recommend and we want to do it again.
We went paddle boarding with Dan, absolutely amazing day, one of us had been paddle boarding before, but I had not and was a little nervous. But was instantly put at ease, Dan was friendly, knowledgable and we had one of the best mornings ever. We started in the bay then went along to the harbour to learn how to stand up and a few fun tricks. He then took us along to the marshes for a fun adventure. We couldn’t recommend Exmoor Adventures enough, we will definitely be back! All social distancing in place and necessary measures taken as well.
We were a group of families with kids aged from 14 down to 8 and booked a morning coasteering with Dan.
I wasn’t quite sure what coasteering would be exactly. It turns out to be swimming in wetsuits out to rocks, climbing up them (walking up them really, as they are more like ledges) and then jumping into the sea. Repeat. It was great fun! Everyone started on a low jump and then those more confident could progress to higher ones.
Dan and Joe were great hosts. A good sense of humour and very experienced at putting us at our ease. Even those who claimed beforehand to be there just to keep an eye on their kids surprised themselves with how much they enjoyed themselves.
100% recommended - we’d do this again if coming to Exmoor. More
Good quality bikes with good batteries so you can go for a long day if sensible. The location couldn’t be better as the edge of exmoor above porlock is awash with trails and bridleways. We covered 30 miles of trails over 6 hours with 4 hours of riding. The mans bike with a heavy chap was about out but the ladies had plenty to spare. They run organised rides or you can just rent and go like us. All in all highly recommend.
Four of us went kayaking in a beautiful morning session starting at porlock weir, then into porlock bay, into the lagoon through the sunken forest, up some rivers and back out down the rapids with only one capsize!! It was amazing perfect weather Ben was...More
